Falling Stars (Crocosmia)

Crocosmia is a striking orange flowering plant indigenous in Southern Africa the name comes from the Greek words Krokos (Saffron) and Osme (scent) as  reference to the strong sent of saffron if the dried flowers are soaked in hot water. they are a common site on Johannesburg pavements in the early spring. this painting was created for the "September" 2022 exhibition.
